35% Carbamide Peroxide Whitening Gel is one of the max strengths available in the Canadian market.  Once the gel apply to the teeth, it releases active whitening factors to remove surface tooth stains for a whiter smile. 

There are a variety of active ingredients to whiten teeth: from sodium fluoride to hydrogen peroxide and even carbamide peroxide. While less known than other ingredients, carbamide peroxide is gaining popularity in the teeth whitening space as more studies observe its efficacy at whitening enamel. Carbamide peroxide is a solution formed from urea and hydrogen peroxide.

Hydrogen Peroxide vs. Carbamide Peroxide – What’s the difference?

Teeth whitening gels mainly have the active ingredient hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide.  Carbamide peroxide however is hydrogen peroxide which is combined with a stabilizer called urea.  Hydrogen peroxide is the most popular product for use in cosmetic teeth whitening gel due to its fast effective results. Both hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide are effective teeth whitening ingredients.

The safer alternative - Carbamide peroxide is a more complex and stable product and has about 1/3 the strength of hydrogen peroxide, which is restricted by low concentration levels regulations in whitening gels in the Canadian market. Whitening gels using carbamide peroxide have a longer shelf life of 12 months from time of purchase, than those with hydrogen peroxide of 3-6 months.
